What is Roundtable?
- Roundtables provide unit leaders with the skill to do and the will to do what is needed to ensure that every member of every unit has a great Scouting experience. They build upon the foundation provided by position-specific basic training and each leader’s commitment to serving youth through Scouting. Roundtables also provide an opportunity for sharing experiences and enjoying fun and fellowship with other leaders.
-
Roundtable’s Purpose
- To Provide Information, Capture Information, Offer Current Program Training, and Provide Networking Opportunities so that unit leaders can support and prepare for monthly activities with their youth
-
When & Where is Roundtable?
- The Phoenix District typically hosts Roundtable on the second Thursday of each month (except July). We meet at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church at 7:00 PM. (3180 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30305) Email announcements are sent in advance to highlight the monthly program feature. To be added to our distribution list, contact our district’s Roundtable Commissioner listed below.
-
Who May Attend Roundtable?
- We ask that every unit (pack/troop/crew) send at least one representative to Roundtable every month. Important and timely information is shared at Roundtable, so it’s important to attend and bring the information back to your unit. Some units schedule rotations for their leaders to attend Roundtable to make sure there is always someone there each month. While we ask for a minimum of one representative to attend from your unit, all Scout leaders are welcome and encouraged to join us!
- Roundtable is designed to benefit unit leaders, unit committee members, chartered organization representatives (CORs) and commissioners.
